Who Can Practice?

Bikram Yoga is simultaneously for the fit and unfit.

The Bikram Yoga practice is and always has been curvy-friendly, trauma-sensitive, and accessible. It is accessible to men and practiced by athletes more than any other yoga available today. We also welcome and support students with limited mobility, chronic pain or injury, and even those who are not able to walk. Our teachers are trained to help each student with the correct approach to each posture.

We safely teach to those who need chairs at first, who have broken bones, less than four limbs, and who have chronic pain.

All Ages

Our regular students range in age from 8 to 82; this yoga system is practiced safely and gently by many in their 80s and 90s.  We work with individuals to find the best approach, intensity level, and practice frequency for their needs.

All Faiths and Backgrounds

Our teaching method is very practical and straightforward.  It does not include language or belief systems that conflict with faiths or religions.

Safe Space Policy

At BYCA, we welcome and support all individuals, yet we have a zero-tolerance policy for any forms of harassment, manipulation, abuse, or other “unsafe” or purposefully disruptive behaviors.

Who can benefit from Bikram Yoga?

We welcome students of all ages seeking relief from aging, including the aches and pains that come with getting older as well as menopausal discomfort. If you have a desire to age into more mobility and balance with less pain, give Bikram Yoga a try.

Bikram Yoga can help the aging:

Strengthens and relaxes muscles to ease everyday activities

Reduces or eliminates hot flashes

Improves balance and maintains/improves bone density

We welcome students of all ages seeking relief from chronic back and joint pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, connective tissue disorders, and more.  If you suffer from pain that is preventing you from thriving, Bikram Yoga could be the solution you are looking for.

Bikram Yoga can help those with chronic pain by the following mechanisms:

Eliminates or reduces back and joint pain

Improves circulation to deep tissues of all joints and all connective tissues

Reduces inflammation and arthritic conditions

Bikram Yoga is the yoga of choice for many professional athletes, collegiate athletes, long-distance runners, former athletes recovering from injuries, and aspiring athletes.

Bikram Yoga dramatically assists athletes in these ways and more:

Trains and refines mental focus and agility for long games, intense plays, and top-level competition

Improves cardiovascular and pulmonary efficiency for faster times and increased speed
